Media-specific templates ensure consistent cataloguing of a range of physical and online resources. Heritage Cirqa enables you to gather all your resources together in one place, both those within the library catalogue and via showcase links to the online databases and resources your library subscribes to. Discoverability is key; authority control ensures data integrity and bibliographic records can be imported from a variety of sources.
Circulation is controlled by library-defined rules and notices such as overdues, pre-overdues and reservation notifications can be sent out automatically via email or push notifications to MyCirqa. Reader records can be automatically updated from a central MIS and tools are provided to ensure your data remains GDPR compliant. Quarantine and click & collect facilities are provided to ensure continuity of service where possible.
Being able to measure activity and produce meaningful reports has never been more imporantant than now. Being able to demonstrate activity and service provision accurately and clearly activity trends Hundreds of pre-defined reports are provided as standard.

Reports can be copied, edited and exported from the system, and even emailed on a regular basis so they simply arrive in your inbox when required. A report writing wizard is also provided to ensure all your reporting needs are catered for. A job scheduler is provided so that a range of routine tasks can be performed automatically without staff interaction – think of it like your virtual Systems librarian!

interfaces can be designed to suit the different requirements of your users.
Single sign-on can ensure that they are always presented with a search interface
and range of widgets specific to their needs such as ‘What’s new?’, ‘Featured

EBSCO, JSTOR, Britannica Academic).

Heritage Cirqa is compatible with user management systems (via LDAP, Active Directory, Shibboleth, OpenAthens), VLEs such as Moodle, Discovery systems such as EBSCO and a variety of self-service systems via the SIP2 protocol. A range of export facilities via XML, CSV and MARC formats are available.

Keep your users safe by ensuring items are quarantined before reshelving – Heritage Cirqa will tell you when it is safe to circulate them again.

When your users visit the online catalogue their login details can be automatically passed to Heritage Online so they always see the interface and content that is relevant to them.

Issuing ‘on the fly’ – If someone wants to borrow something from the library that isn’t on your catalogue you can create a quick loan on the fly, even for items like phone chargers and calculators!

Let Heritage Cirqa automatically handle housekeeping processes and routine tasks such as producing reports and sending out overdues and pre-overdues.

Tutors can create and share lists of items with their students via the online catalogue (or they can ask you to do it for them).

If you’re providing online resources to your students you can regularly check that links to those resources are not broken.

If a student is searching for a particular topic you can attach a hint pointing them towards a resource outside the library – it could be an online resource, exhibition or even a member of staff that can help further.
You can set a future action date on any item, marking it for review or expiry, and Heritage Cirqa can email you regularly to remind you when it is time.

Teaching staff and students can indicate subject areas of interest and they will be informed of all the new
stock added to those subject areas. This helps maximise resources right from the start.

Borrowing statistics are not the whole picture of your library service! Ensure your statistics reflect the real usage of your library stock, by scanning in all items consulted in the library, before reshelving them.

Heritage Cirqa can manage large, multi-site libraries, controlling inter-site transfers, site-specific defaults, notices and rules and our team are highly experienced in library management system merges.

An optional bookings module enables library staff to book resources for users for set periods in the future, with buffer periods in between bookings to allow for processing and recharging if necessary.
